I get that you sell keycaps but what about the keyboard itself? Also, do I need those things that go under the keycap as well? Sorry, Im a keyboard N00b but I would like one. Im just a little intimidated here by the fragmentation of products.
Pretty much what @jbozsworth said here. You would either need a fully built keyboard (and swap just the keycaps to these) or a barebones kit sourcing any other needed components (will need case, PCB, switches, stabilizers, and keycaps at minimum - some of which will be included in the kit).
This guide that @The_Manic_Geek just posted might be a helpful starting point, along with the intro to switches that @ThereminGoatMK put together. Let us know if you have any other questions or need any additional help with the process.
the keyboard is the "drop alt high profile" it is not a great sounding keyboard. the things under the keycaps are the switches, you will need between 65-104 depending on what size keyboard you buy.
as a beginner you will want a hotswap keyboard, so you don't have to solder the switches, and can change them out when you decide you want to try a different switch.
if you are on a budget and dont know much yet, i would suggest getting a keyboard from "redragon" they can be found on ebay or amazon for $30-60 and have a cheaper version of hotswap sockets. i like this one as a starter <snip>
you will want to upgrade the switches with a pre-lubed switch from AKKO, KTT, or HUANO for starters....
