Pros: great printing, great shade of black, great texture (it's fairly smooth, which I prefer). Reviewers get really fixated on the fact that the kerning is off by one nanometer on some of the keys... like, who cares man? I would not have noticed that in 20 years and I work as a designer. Overall, all the aesthetics here are on-point. If you want a classy-looking WoB set, this is a solid choice.
Cons: a much more prominent issue to my mind than the OCD kerning issue is that these keycaps are indeed thinner than some competitor counter-parts, leading to lighter acoustics. I think most peoples prefer a deeper, thockier sound. But while it is noticeable, it's not like it sounds bad, just lighter than what you might expect. The other issue I got which is weird considering the above is that the space bar really struggled with anything besides linears... it became mushy very quick. I know this is not an uncommon issue for space bars but it was just very stark considering I had just been using everything else the same in my build but changed from Cherry profile keycaps to the DCX WoB and immediately the space bar was struggling. Yes, I know this could be remedied by upgrading the stabs... I'm just pointing out my experience... it won't be an issue for most.
Summary: the issues I've pointed out are pretty nit-picky, and this is a very solid set overall if you're looking for a classier build, instead of your garish Tai-Ho Hawaiian gamer build. Because black goes with almost everything, it's a good choice for a generalist keycap set in your collection.
Basic default go-to set if you want the classic look. I like the DCX ABS material because I feel it has a very slight rubbery sensation. Feels great when typing for long periods over some of the GMK sets I have.
My previous experience with thin ABS keycaps was not great, so I have stuck with PBT until now. The DCX got such good reviews I thought I'd try a couple of sets. They have changed my mind. These are really great quality and give a nice typing experience.
I have tried a full black keyboard with this set and also used it as modifiers on the DCX Permafrost. Both look great! Now I'm addicted to collecting them...
bought during the BOGO sale and received 2 sets for 100 dollars. You can't go wrong with that bought them to compare to GMK key caps. Do not get me wrong GMK are better but for 50 dollars and no wait time just get this set.
