Made in collaboration with Granite Gear, the Crown X60 strikes the perfect balance between being lightweight, rich in features, and durable for long-term use. It builds on the Crown2—the company’s most popular pack and a favorite among long-distance hikers—with a few revisions suggested by the backpacking community Read More
I have a Bearvault 500 and it fits both inside the pack (stowed vertically) or on top of the pack horizontally. When the Bearvault is stowed on top, both the Y strap and the brain will strap around the vault. If I were hiking without the pack’s brain, I might want to lash the vault down with some extra cord for extra stability. (Tip: put your food in a bag inside your Bearvault. Hike with the food lower in your pack, and carry the empty Bearvault on top: better weight distribution.)
Same as below again. Water resistant. I use both a large clear poly bag as a pack line AND a Silnylon pack cover to keep the Crown from wetting out. It would probably help to spray DWR on the pack from time to time
I'd say it is quite water resistant. Accidentally left mine in a pool of water for several hours during sleeping but there was no water inside the bag although the material was damp.
on a recent hike I had 6 hours of fairly constant rain on one day, I didn’t use a rain cover and the interior remained dry. I had a liner for some items inside the pack but not all and there was no sign of misfire in the main compartment. The only section to get some moisture was in the top lid where some papers got slightly damp (probably my fault!). Hope that helps!
