Sculpted in Hi-Profile, Matt3o’s groundbreaking MT3 /dev/tty custom keycap set changed the way we type. From its heavily slanted design to the scooped, contoured tops of each cap, the set recreates the feel of vintage keyboards. Now, we’re bringing the profile back in a brand-new colorway with doubleshot tooling that’s never been attempted before. As opposed to a dye-sublimation printing process, these doubleshot legends are permanently molded inside the keycap, thus becoming an integral part of it. This ensures reliable legends and continuity throughout the set. Originally called “Soot,” Susuwatari (literally “Wandering Soot”) is an homage to Matt3o’s favorite design house, Studio Ghibli, whose animated films feature fluffy little Soot sprites. Made up of warm gray alphas, almost-black modifiers, and multicolored legends, the set is compatible with Cherry MX switches and clones.
Based on the profile from the iconic IBM beamspring terminals of the 1970s, this custom set is fully sculpted in Hi-Profile. What's Hi-Profile, you ask? Many computer terminals of old were constructed with a slanted switch layout from front to back. Because of that slant, the keycaps sat at an angle atop the switches, too. This set is a reimagination of that unique slanted build, but optimized for modern keyboards. Thanks to some significant design work from Matt3o, 3D modeling, and a whole lot of elbow grease, we're proud to bring these innovative caps back in a brand-new colorway.

Inspired by magical soot balls from a certain celebrated (and spirited) animated film, Matt3o’s Susuwatari keycaps were a big hit in our Mech Keys Community. Now, Mechcables is bringing the Susuwatari colorway to a high-performance cable. Made from 550 gray paracord, dark gray Techflex, and dark-gray connectors, this soot-colored cable matches the shades of the Susuwatari set to a T. Sporting a 5-foot coiled design, it’s a flexible and durable choice for any setup. Use the detachable aviator port to swap connections with ease.
