I have read the other reviews and I may have just gotten lucky, but my mat (black) is now perfect. Upon the initial unboxing, the left and right sides of the mat curled upwards as it was rolled with the backside out, but after 2 hours and some weight distribution it has settled. I have felt around the edges to try and find any stitching issues and luckily found none. I think that the "fraying" others mention on the left is the point where the stitch ends, but that is to be expected on all deskmats as thats the only way to get a clean stitched edge. Trust me, I now have 9 deskmats so I know a thing or two.
I can gladly say that this mat will now be one that is permanently on my main setup. As always, the DROP 4mm thick mats feel ultra premium with how plush they are compared to any other 3mm or 2mm you can find elsewhere. Stacking a few of them will also soften your typing experience, but I am on a heavily modded gmmk pro so that doesn't do much at this point.
Now I will say that this mat does end up slightly longer than my other mats in length, so potentially it is not 400mm but something closer to 410-420. I stack my mats 3/4 at a time for extra bounce and to mute my keyboard a bit, so it is noticeable to me. This should not be an issue for anyone who isn't stupid like I am and changes mats/keycap sets every week or so though lol.
10/10 will probably buy another color once I get GMK Pixels keycap set in.
I only have experienced two desk mats before this, and now that I have tried it I really like. Its nice and thick enough and isn't the worse for my mouse when using it. Overall, if you need a solid color deskmat or don't mind the design, this is for you.
Good quality desk mat. The stitching around the edges is nice too. Only issue are the edges are still a little curled even after putting stuff on them.
Stitching issues and edges curves up even after 3 weeks of use
On the left hand side of deskmat there are some stitching inconsistencies that have caused unpainted threading to show. Not a big deal. More annoying is that the deskmat is shipped tightly rolled so that the top surface has a really bad edge curving when laid flat. Even after weighing it the side edges I still have bad upward curvature.
This seems like a super easy fix to make considering I don't have this issue on other deskmats. Just roll up the deskmat the other way when packing and the edge curvature will be facing towards the desk instead of toward the ceiling.
