Perfect form factor for my desk and integrates seamlessly with my other equipment and workflow. Small size with a numeric pad, excellent key feel and not dependent on always on software to keep the colors burning bright. It can be as rowdy or subdued as the mood strikes. Love the keys sound and travel distance.
I bought this keyboard for my wife since I already have V1. I love V1, but IMHO V2 is better. The typing experience is tighter, more cushion. The RGB shines thru the keys with a lot more intensity/brightness. Wish I owned this one instead of V1. Honestly, it's the best keyboard I've ever used. Fantastic KB and I definitely recommend it!!
SHIFT V2 Mechanical with Drop's offering for pudding keycaps. Not a gamer here, and certainly not into RGB flashy stuff in my keyboards.... but now not so sure anymore, as I'm kind'a diggin' this look with the right brightness and hue (all keyboard configurable). Less is more.
An overall improvement over the DROP SHIFT V1. Love the option for Gateron Yellow Switches and that it remembers RGB settings now. Customized the keycaps with some Novelkeys Handarbeit GMKs, but otherwise, I've kept it exactly as ordered from Drop.
I had the V1 and thought I loved it, but the V2 is even better, and sounds and feels better with the foam and stabilizer upgrades. I love the Holy Panda X Clear switches - they're smooth and sound great. I had recently purchased my V1, but when I saw the upgrades on the V2, I had to get my hands on it, and I'm glad I did. Worth the purchase.
I had been a pretty basic adherent to Cherry MX Blues for years, never liking linear or tactile Cherry switches. Prior to that, I'd played with Model Ms and the first mech board I ever owned had Alps White.
I really only got this board because I loved my CTRL, but needed a numpad and 1800 boards appealed to me. What I didn't expect is that I'm fully converted to the tactile life with these Holy Panda X Clears. The feel is better, the sound is nice and creamy; it's great. The V2 upgrade over V1 is just incredible as well.
Great keyboard. I moved from the Drop Ctrl v1 to the Drop Shift v2 and am happy with my purchase. I originally bought the Ctrl because the Shift wasn't announced yet. I ended up having an separate num pad which was a new experience for me but was pretty nice. I decided to update to the Shift so I could pass the Ctrl down to a family member and relearning the num pad placement has been an uphill battle but will come with time. I previously had my separate num pad to the right of my mouse since it's used less often and it was a nice experience.
Overall the keyboard build quality and feel is nice. My only complaints are that I preferred the Cherry MX Browns in the Ctrl over the Holy Panda X Clears. This is subjective though and the switches work just fine. These boards are super easy to take apart for cleaning or service. I would happily pick up another if I had a need for it.
It's worth noting if you want to use the second USB C port on the keyboard as a pass-thru you cannot use a HID only port. I use a Level1Tech KVM and stumbled into this before I realized my problem.
This is my second keyboard I've owned, but having felt and used my more than that this is a great board it feels sturdy and sounds great. The keys feel very nice and are very smooth the feel. It also just plugs in and work which is a plus.
