Great addition to a LotR/fantasy themed build
Drop.com sent me this item to review in advance of the product release, opinions in this review are my own. I received the 65% Smaug version. This wrist rest is beautiful and very detailed without being too busy. The sense of depth and the lighting effects are very cool, and it’s hard for the product photos to do it justice. This wrist wrest would go great with the upcoming Lord of the Rings MT3 keycap sets, especially the Elvish set with its green modifiers and the Evenstar kit with the red. That said, since there is no LotR branding on the visible part of the wrist rest, I could see it going very well with other fantasy, or green/red themed builds as well. Functionally, it does the trick as a wrist rest, and is a good height and width for my DROP ALT (standard profile). The height and angle are a little lower and more mellow than the Orcas wrist rest that I have been using, but the difference is minor and it is not at all uncomfortable. The only negative for me with this wrist rest is the little rubber/silicon feet on the bottom. On the whole, the piece looks and feels very high quality, but the feet are just adhesive 3m Bumpons or something similar, and don’t feel like they will stay on forever. This is my first resin wrist rest, and maybe they all use this sort of thing for feet (not sure what a good alternative would even be), but it stands out as being slightly “cheap” compared to the rest of the product. Obviously, the feet are not visible while using, so they don’t affect the overall aesthetics of the piece on the desk, but they feel like they might eventually dry up and fall off after heavy use. If you do lose one, the wrist rest might become unstable and be unusable, and it might be difficult to find a matching rubber foot to replace it. This could be partially remedied by maybe supplying a few spares.

Smaug's eye 65% Wrist Rest: Great rest, even better showpiece
This is my first resin wrist rest I've owned. Drop.com sent me this product for review prior to the product release, however opinions of the product in this review are my own. Upon unboxing this one from Moonkey, it was almost jarring how detailed it is. The color is very vibrant and the raised and lowered portions of the scales and horns are lovely. The design is overall great, especially for a LoTR fan like myself. As a wrist rest it works perfectly as intended, no issues there. The amount of work and passion that went into this can surely be seen and felt. I can't wait to see more LoTR products that Drop reveals.
