Cancelled my order for now. Could not find enough reasons to take a chance on what seems to be a good headphone with not enough reviews to make a purchase this time.

MusicLoverFrom my experiences both owning and talking with other owners, I'm not exactly sure where you came to the conclusion of "too many quality issues". Not to mention the inherent bias in open discussions such as this.
Personally, I find that whatever risk may be perceived is completely covered by the fact that Chan has been stand up in support even during this hectic run for the past month or so. That all said, to each their own. Just think its unfair to say something so hyperbolic in an effort to sway others with no info.

Silverion77I did not mean to offend and I followed this items discussion page. I saw that several had issues with the cable connection not just bad cables. I asked for advice on this item on this site and others and did not feel this was a $500.Headphone to me. I was advised of needing to change the pads and cables. Those items would make these headphones costing me $600 plus. I will be happy to delete my previous post if you feel what I wrote was unfair.

MusicLoverI think its fair to vocalize. Just weird to not provide why is all so I added my counterpoint. One person has run into a cabling connection problem which I dont find all that surprising. If there were streams of people I would count it to QC issues (cough cough like razer mice cough cough). Otherwise I chalk it up to a miss on qc or mishandled by the owner. If its the former then I personally have no issues as long as the company rectifies the situation appropriately. Hell, just look at the Audeze lcd 4 and Utopia debacle. Many review units had horribly incorrect responses and those are $3k+ (adjusted for not really having to pay msrp).
Pad swap is a foster thing. You either dont mind or hate the pads but thats been a thing for 10 year.

Silverion77I agree that I could have worded my comment without so much judgement. I edited it to be more inline with why I decided to wait.

MusicLoverI have the EMU-teak for 9 months. I also have the Fostex Mahogony and previously owned the Purple Heart. The EMU-teak is the best! I would recommend the teak wood cups as the sound is amazing! The people buying the Fostex should really be taking a closer look at these.
