I moved into a new house and my wife is unaccepting of my big Klipsch surround speakers on stands for my rears but these beauties might fit the bill. I realize that these won’t be tonally matched with the rest of my system. Does anyone have any opinions of using these for rears using my amp’s pre-out to these speaker’s aux in?

RedTargayeanDepends on your front setup. If you have "Big Klipsch" as your backs, your fronts must quite full range. There's an old theory that the backs are there just to add dimensionality to the sound. Thing is, it's an old theory going back to original Dolby, might not apply to later digital iterations. I'm getting them for our night stands since the TV is wall mounted 13 feet away. Hoping that having a nearfield setup will improve dialogue comprehension for my 60+ year old ears. They might pair very nicely with edifier bookshelf speakers like the R1280T, and a modest subwoofer for decent surround sound in a medium room. You would still have to run a power cord to them, not a good prospect for Spouse acceptance. Good luck! Hope you get a good price on the Klipsch.
