Hi all, I just received my E-MU Teacs today and some things seem a bit off with the pair I got... :( First off, the pads were installed the wrong way (right pad on left cup). I then noticed that my pads actually look different from every photo of the headphones I could find online: the seams are at the bottom (close to the cables), and not on the front side as in the pictures (and also on the stock pads of my very similarly built TH-X00). The L/R interior inscriptions of the pads seem to be hit or miss in the online photos; they're not there in the Drop images, but mine -- and apparently some other people -- have them. Also, the cable connector seems to be way different than in the description pics. Are all these differences just because of a different revision, or should I suspect my order was somehow tampered with? The wrong pad installation (and seam location) got me worried...

kzampogHello, I realize this is like wayyyyyyy late of a reply but I wonder if you've sorted this out yet. The pads seems to be the correct orientation / direction. Only thing to keep in mind is that typically Fostex headphones use protein leather pads and people complain "why is it not leather". So E-Mu updated the later version to leather pads. Which seems to be made by a different company since Fostex don't typically make leather pads. Which might explain the seam difference but which should be fine, you can rotate it lightly to line up the bottom to the cord. As for the connector, that I'm not too sure. It does look different than the cable connection that I had. You could always e-mail E-Mu to be sure. Their e-mail is enquiry@emu.com. Hope you sort this out!

kzampogHi, did you get any response from Drop or E-MU? I have the same black connector on my Teaks, same 1/4 adapter, also have the L/R inscriptions inside of the pads, my pads look very similar to what I see on your photos, except that I have the seams in the front. Bought the Teaks on Drop in May 2022.

kzampog@Hyde @dexxt Apologies for the long reply delay! I contacted Drop soon I had posted here, and they were able to send me a replacement. The new unit was identical to my first one in every way, except that it had the pads installed correctly :)

kzampoglol I was going to say if the pad was installed the wrong way it's easy to fix yourself. But glad to know Drop fixed it for you!

HydeI know, I was just a bit skeptical because of the other differences I noticed (which are presumably normal), and since Drop offered to send me a replacement, I took it for my peace of mind :)
