I joined the drop that ended today. Anyone know what options there are for labeled keycaps? I've seen unlabeled ones, but no labeled ergodox sets. I understand the benefits of unlabeled, but I'm looking for labeled.
rgopHave a look at www.pimpmykeyboard.com/deals/deep-space/ If you like the design, you will need the Base Set + ErgoDox + a little number of more keys … But there are more possibilities and vendors that I don't know all about …
rgop(Heh, you, me and a few hundred other people joined the one that ended Dec 1st... I wonder how long it'll take to get this keyboard? *grin*)
The best bets I've seen for labelled keys is to:
- Look for DSA profile (spherical top) or KT profile (cylindrical top) sets.
- Look for keys in any of the profiles that are designed to the same row (e.g., SA profile, row 3).
Signature Plastics has some info on profiles that may be of assistance: http://www.keycapsdirect.com/key-caps.php
Their group buy site appears to run sets that would work on an ErgoDox periodically; there's one going on right now: http://www.pimpmykeyboard.com/deals/deep-space/
Be aware that it's not cheap for a full set.
If you're willing to wait, you can also keep your eyes peeled for buys showing up here on Massdrop; I'm pretty sure we'll see various acceptable things showing up. :)
rgopIn addition to what others have said, another choice is to use a P-Touch label maker to label the blank keycaps yourself, such as what I have done here: https://imgur.com/a/nDvry#ws3tjDJ. Info of the model label maker and the type of labels can be found at https://imgur.com/a/nDvry#38kKeue.
reignsphereI was sooo looking forward to this in the interest check, but now there is only the blue option instead of both blue and purple for the ergodox, I liked the purple, so although i wanted legends, Imma just order the individual blank ergodox keys i need in purple.
