So what makes this worth $100 more than a Estwing sport mans axe? Think I have 2 of those, if I can find them.

rob-okrayThe warranty. Esee offers a lifetime, no questions asked warranty on all of their tools. The warranty support is US based as well. You can literally destroy their tools with fire or snap them in half trying to lever a boulder and they'll send you a new one. That said, if you want one I see no compelling reason to order one here. There are plenty in stock all over, and you could have it tomorrow. The only reason I don't own this axe yet is that their cleaver does everything this little axe could do.

rob-okrayReally your just paying for the names on it, a warranty is nice but not the point of a good knife.

SchuylerIt seems a lifetime, no questions asked warranty on a well-used axe, that costs over $130, is quite the selling point, if not the point. I think one pays for the reputation behind the name, rather than the name itself. In this case, ESEE has exactly the reputation that leads one to pay a bit more.

NarqJust bothered to call around locally, I can buy the steel for four of these at 65 bucks, the shop down the street from me will cut it with a water jet for 35 and my home built heat treatment system cost me 30 bucks. So I could spend less then this normally cost and already get a lifetimes worth of to small hatchets.

SchuylerYou could do that but most other people probably don't have the time, knowledge, tools, interest, or all of the above to do it. Also, a lifetime hassle free warranty for $139 is really appealing. Just looking around on the internet the cheapest I can kind this particular axe elsewhere is about $170.
