Most flashlights die because their contacts corrode. Especially those not used frequently. They die on you when the emergency hits. For this reason some manufacturers use gold plated contacts. However, I was not able to see this in the description and features. Can you confirm and/or provide a reference answering if the contacts are gold plated?
ElcanoGet a flashlight that allows you to slightly unscrew the tailcap and stick in a modern NiMH battery. You could leave it in your car fora couple of years and it *should* still be ready to go for a decent amount of runtime.
Based off the link above, it's Alkaline batteries that are the main culprit for corroded terminals. You should always store your batteries separately if they are going to be used just for emergencies.
Also, lithium batteries won't corrode. Nor will NiMH
