I purchased one of their Reserve series 8 inch chef knives off of Amazon.com just last week. I returned it for a number of reasons, but it was just poorly made for the price. Geeez. The pic they chose for their own site looks even worse. Look how far that wood sticks up on the butt end of the handle 😳

KavikI see what you mean. It is a shame because I think their designs are attractive both from a aesthetic and function perspective. I also like the fact that they're made in the US. Hopefully their quality control will improve with time.

Amazon link didn't clear up much on the steel question, but does give a hint that there's nitrogen in it..... BD1N?
And what's an "Apple seed grind" edge??

KavikAn "apple seed edge" is just a convex grind. It is what naturally happens when you sharpen a knife on the slack portion of a belt with a belt grinder.
I have no idea what the steel is.

dschiedlersure, but they don't even need to do that. they have s MIM sintered product, they can mold right down to the edge level and could release without even grinding it but they still do anyways. We can't think it ingot or billet level technology when we talk sintered products.
