Thanks for the heads up. My daughter is a collector of high quality edged weapons and I was considering this as a Christmas gift to her. I thought it seemed a little pricey. Your thoughtful advisory with the included link confirmed that for me. If MD can negotiate a price that's 25%-30% lower than present, I'll climb on board. If not, I'll pass.

MD can't be beat for Canadian buyers, at least. No taxes when delivered, and the shipping is typically way, way cheaper than well known online retailers... if I buy this here on MD, I save like $15 ~ $20 on shipping, depending where I buy.
Only one retailer offers $10 shipping on knives sent to Canada, but I'm not sure if they use UPS or Fedex, which shower us with fees at delivery time...

BobrazThat's what I've heard from my Canuck friends. BC isn't as bad as Quebec in terms of taxes and shipping. I wonder if MD is Canadian owned? That might explain some things.
