Well I just received my pair of these (the black version, bought direct from linsoul) and I’ve got to say, I don’t know why others are shitting on them. I’m not an audiophile with loads of crazy gear, but previously I had been using the tin p1 and a ifi Hipdac and that was great for me. Loved the p1’s sound, but I guess I had gotten used to their lack of bass, these are head and shoulders above them in my opinion. Similar levels of clarity and placement of instruments etc, but with a much more open feel and a hell of a lot more bass!! I definitely recommend, don’t know why others are hating them, maybe they got faulty sets?

CatgoYou wanna know why? Buy a pair of Audeze’s $2,500 LCDi4 (with their included $400 cable, and I must say for a naked cable which I’m normally not a fan of as I don’t build naked cables, was quite thoughtfully and meticulously designed and sounds great; oh, and make sure to order it terminated specially with a 4-pin XLR or 4.4mm Pentaconn; otherwise you’ll get a 3.5mm which is a huge waste) paired with a killer home balanced DAC and balanced amp, or a balanced portable DAC/amp such as the FiiO Q5s (connected to your iPhone), with the FiiO THX AAA-78 module installed that can output the required 500mW per channel at the LCDi4’s 32 ohms, and you’ll immediately find out why. I must also say I find it hysterical when people talk about “instrument placement,” like they have a clue of what causes it: phase noise and distortion from crappy, non-precision oscillators, poor PCB design with an emphasis on oscillator position, the use of mismatched delta-sigma DAC chips, and impedance mismatching between wires and connectors. Once you take care of all that, THEN WORRY about the PRaT of your earphones.
