As someone who lives in the UK, the division of keycap sets seems incredibly unfair to anyone outside the US. For me to get the standard UK windows keyboard - which I'm sure a sizeable number of people here will want - I would have to buy the common kit, the standard modifiers, the pro modifiers (just for alt gr), ISO enter, the International keycap set (for only 6 of the 86 keys) and a windows kit. With $15 shipping, that's a kick in the arse of $150! Surely I'm not the only one who thinks this is a little steep? Would it not make more sense to offer more kits tailored to each country's needs, even if each kit ends up a little more expensive per key? It would allow people to avoid paying ridiculous amounts of money for hundreds of keys they don't want.
sirroy12You don't need a windows kit. The text set comes with "super" keys and the icon set has diamonds. As for Alt Gr, you can just use an alt key, no? I know this might be a little annoying. But it saves you $25.
The international kit I'll agree with, and there are multiple people trying to work together to split sets.
The reason we can't offer individual sets for each language/Country is because there is a minimum order quantity for each set to go into production.
sirroy12I know. I'm sorry about that. We made Round 2 kits projecting the numbers from Round 1 and we thought that the international kits were quite risky. Actually MD didn't want to run international kits at all, but I sneaked them anyway.
R2 is going better than expected so in hindsight we could have split the UK kit (that was the original idea actually). All I can say is that hopefully MD will lower the intl kit price considering the success of this drop.
matt3oEdit: Nevermind, just noticed the "add another selection" being available from inside the transactions page.
Do you know if it is possible to add more to an order if the price drops?
