sharrocktMan, window up vs. window down became a huge deal over here on this Friday afternoon. The box and manual both have it window side down for all photos where the shield is attached to the arm.
You can attach the shield facing either direction and actually, the original photos were taken with the window side up.

jxliuIn the original 1978 show the RX-78-2 it held the shield window up however in The Origin remake on which this was based the shield is held window down as you have it.
