Product Description
The benefits of a discrete decoder/DAC like the Gustard R26 is that it can take whatever digital audio files you’ve got on tap and bring them to your outputs with an attention to clean, detailed conversion and very little coloring. The R26 accomplishes this with native 1-bit DSD support, up to 32-bit, 768 kilohertz resolution and more-than-capable internal clock synthesization for evenness and next to no artifacts Read More

MusicIsGreatYes, it supports Roon. Meaning that I connected Roon from my PC to the USB input on the R26 and used my phone for remote. Don't anyone think this has a streamer built inside the DAC, it does not have that. It's not like a Node 2i and DAC combo
TubeHead35To read? I do have it and I use it with Roon from my Wi-Fi network. I use Qobuz and I also transmit the music that I have on my computer via Wi-Fi. Can you please tell me what that is if it's not streaming?
TubeHead35Just because it doesn't do what em Nodo does, doesn't mean it's not a streaming please! Stop misinforming. All teams are different and for different things. This, for its value, is a good R2R DAC with streaming. Whether it is better or worse than others, that is ANOTHER issue hahaha
TubeHead35It supports Roon. It is a streamer/renderer, but they plan on upgrading it in the future. What I meant was you can't plug it up and install an app on your phone and access multiple streaming services. I use the Node 2i as comparison because many people thought the R26 was a stand alone streamer. It's a great DAC. I thought about keeping it as a backup, but then decides that I would let it go in case there is some other advancement in the future
TubeHead35In the application I use BubbleUPnP and I connect with the R26 to play my own music and music from Qobuz. It is true that it does not have its own application like a Node, but generally those applications work horrible (Node is bad), the only good application of the brand that I have found good in operation and stability is that of Eversolo .. others are generally a hindrance and I end up using applications like BubbleUPnP, I recommend it.
VeroISCAUDIODon't be an ass. I'm not spreading misinformation. You have to have Roon, they may upgrade it in the future. It is NOT a stand alone streamer. I think the misinformation is in the description. I remember many people being upset thinking it was a stand alone streamer. I've had it and used it. I know it doesn't connect to anything by itself (a streamer) Roon, but that's it. You need a server of some type.
VeroISCAUDIOLet me say it this way.
A streamer is able to play files on its own (from a NAS or connected USB drive or internal drive) or play Qobuz, Tidal, or Deezer on their own without any additional computer. And the Gustard R26 doesn't do that.
What the R26 has is an ethernet input that supports being a Roon endpoint or a UPnP MediaRenderer. It's just an additional digital input to the DAC. Just in this case it is an ethernet input.
Modern DACs have many different digital inputs. You have the basic S/PDIF (coax or optical), AES/EBU. And then more modern DACs have been adding additional digital inputs like USB, IIS, Bluetooth, and some proprietary digital inputs. They're all just digital inputs. They can't play anything on their own without some other piece of gear or a computer sending them the right digital data to play
My product just arrived, the box does not contain a user manual or s quick strart quide, where is such a manual found? This is poor fof a $1600 product
