Dmac6419Well, Dolby and the like are Home Theatre related, and profess different things than MQA. I'd imagine that's the rub, but your point is totally fair.

J_December_whyMotherfucker buy the shit it's only 450,you don't have to use MQA,like I said in a previous post,GoldenOne/child and most of these so called reviewer (anti mqa )don't know shit about music or equipment, most of em can't even tell you the time signature the music is playing in, just use stupid words like timbre, synergy, ect, music is for fucking enjoyment, don't over complicate it.

postwarscarsWell Dolby Atmos for Music sure ain't free, ask Dolby if it’s free, asks Tidal, Amazon and Apple if it free, whatever you bought to decode it you help pay for that license fee.

Dmac6419Well of course not, but most people listening to music aren't concerned with Atmos for music. It's much more niche than MQA in that respect. But also Dolby and DTS basically do what they claim, which is provide surround decoding for movies. It's licensed, but it's also not got a viable alternative like FLAC that is open-source and free. Anyway, I don't use MQA, but I'm not concerned about it being included on a DAC I buy either. Shake oil or not, it makes very little difference to me.

postwarscarsI can agree with some of what you say and some I can disagree with,I will use MQA if I'm streaming Tidal, I'll also listen too the non MQA albums on Tidal, when streaming Apple, Amazon or Qobuz I'll stream all albums and save the ones that sound best to me,I really don't care if it's flac alac, mp3 or MQA.
