XiKWhich is closet to regular "fine"--my question above.

jsteinberg48Their cursive fine and italic fine are all about .80 mm at broadest line width, I believe. Depending on their regular fine size before grinding they are probably around a .40 (normal fine for western) so you are likely looking at a 50% line variation on that. Your normal medium is probably around .50-.60mm. I'd say the closest is probably going to be the cursive fine as they will already round what is a small line variation and cursives are known for having a lower variation.

ThePandarantulaThank you, "ThePandarantula" (great name). Basically, this would not be a good pen for someone who wants to write in block letters with even line width. Am I reading your response correctly. In other words, "is there way to keep the line width constant or is it too difficult since the nibs are meant for letters that are "thicker in cert parts (curves for example) than other parts?"

jsteinberg48There is only one option for a standard nib, so if you are comfortable with a medium size, that will absolutely write an even line width—it is the only nib that will. The cursive and italic will have line variation. The difference here is that the cursive nib is ground flat but has rounded edges (compared to the italic being mostly squared) which is why I suggested it as being the closest to a standard fine. this previous drop, linked elsewhere, has the same italix nibs but had an example of each nib: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/italix-parsons-essential-fountain-pen

ThePandarantulaThank you very much. I wish they made a fine point. I am not a big fan of medium size nibs. Thanks agian.
