Here is a good tip for mechanical noobs like me that I found on various forums. I guess most in here already know this, but for those that don't...

If your coming from a laptop or another lower profile membrane keyboard then you might find the key travel to be too far on this keyboard. There are two solutions that I know. The probably most correct solution is to learn the activation point of the keys and don't bottom out, i.e., get used to it.

Unfortunately, you've been trained to bottom out for years. The faster solution is to install some o-rings under the keys. I found the difference to be amazing. The shorter key travel feels more natural to me. Aside from me typing better, it also makes the keyboard a bit quieter, which you probably would like since you bought browns.

To do this you'll need a keycap puller [1] and some o-rings [2]. You can get more expensive rings that are marketed to be specifically for mechanical keyboards, but many have bought the o-rings I have linked to and seem to be just as happy with them as I am. O-rings have specs, such as width, inner diameter, and hardness that you might want to research before making a decision.

I'm only using one ring per post, but some initial testing shows that this keyboard will accept two of these rings per post. The stopping point was just below the tactile bump and activation point of the brown switch. I only tested this on one key, but it seems it should be true for all of the keys. You'll need to grab two bags of o-rings if you want the option to lower the key travel even more.

Edit: Don't use more than one ring. I used the extra rings on the main (alpha) keys as a test and found that the travel reduction was so close the activation point that it was unreliable for some keys.

Happy keyboarding.

[1] http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AZCGF7K
[2] http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051XWXCE
