I would love to say "everything is going great", but we don't have the product in our hands yet, so I don't think that would be a correct characterization.
Just to clarify something for people- wholesale/manufacturers aren't in the business of providing customer service (for the most part). Generally they're in the business of making cool stuff, and then selling it (by the hundreds) to a handful of distributor/etc so that they don't have to deal with "customers".
For us, it's a delicate dance to submit our order, pay them, and then "ask, but don't seem pushy" about when they're going to ship our product. Trust me, if we push to hard, the result is very negative (they just ship to other distributors and give us our money back).
This is in no way directly related to KBT, this is a generalization of the wholesale market that we deal in.
So, we do try to send a friendly call here-and-there to find out how things are going, and try to get information. For the KBT's, this is the first time these are ever being produced/built, and reading between the lines, things don't seem to be going as smoothly for them as they initially expected (otherwise we'd have the keyboards by now). We're still on order with them, and we're still expecting to get the first batch of these ever made, but unfortunately it's taking longer than they (or we, or you) want.
I'd love to give you guys more updates, but for now it's still just a waiting game. It's not a great answer, but implicitly, when we don't update you, it's because there's no 'new' information available. The second we hear something exciting to share with you, we get on the comments and shout it out at the top of our lungs! :) That being said, I'll try to remember to give you guys updates now and then that nothing new has happened.
Okay, this was a really long post with probably TMI. But it should be cover us for a good week or so worth of updates right? ;)

MarkWow thanks for the detailed update Mark. I'm sure that insight was something a lot of us either didn't really appreciate or didn't know in general. As far as updates, something simple in the future (if there really isn't any new information) such as "KBT is still manufacturing the boards, our order is still on... expected ETA for shipment is still unknown" or whatever. Its just very nice to get a post from the MassDrop crew now and then even if there's no new information so we customers don't get into infant mode and start crying =D<br /><br />I know its stupid of us, can't explain it lol.<br />Thanks Mark for that!

MarkSo, We're still on order with no ETA? This isn't the first time stuff like this happened. The Poker massdrop was delayed as well with little updates until the product was suppose to ship.

MarkNot too much information. Just glad to know whats going on with the product. Its a shame they are having trouble on their end but I'd much rather them not ship us an inferior product. The hype in my mind for the product is ridiculous. I really hope they are perfect :D
