Quick update: Keyboards arrived at our warehouse this morning. Expect them to be shipped out tomorrow! :)
And on a funny note... we have to teach our warehouse staff to recognize Chinese characters (see picture).
AshOh man oh man. I'm close enough to you guys that I get your shipments the next day. I'm so excited! I've been waiting for what feels like ages for these!
Thank you guys so much for your hard work and patience with your suppliers. I know we've been patient, too, but we certainly didn't have to learn Chinese for it! Thanks again! I hope all your work will pay off with the ErgoDox drop too!

DanBradburythat's obviously not an important update, nothing worth updating about right now. Chinese is really hard to read when there is only 3 different switches and 3 types of key caps.
yjtt3 different switches * 3 different LEDs * 3 different key caps = 27 different combinations possible.
Not saying it's hard, probably would take an hour tops determining which set of characters correspond to what, but we've waited this long so a few more days won't hurt.
arashbThere are only 1 colored LED. You only need to sort everything together, you don't even need to know what the characters mean. It's not like you're translating every single keyboard, you batch them and translate it after. For a batch of 200 I don't think it should take that long at all. I already have no expectation from massdrop, I'm just saying that it's retarded at this point to defend them.

I no longer recommend people from using MD and have been advising many folks to stay away.
Coworker sitting for 3 months waiting for ergo keyboard that is coming from washington. All I know is I have a sister in Washington who got me the same product faster. Not sure why they are so slow with everything.
If there is a response from MD employee about this I could care less, you have lost my future business and I will continue to tell others to look elsewhere.
Also I get you guys are a startup but this is ridiculous.
DanBradburyIf you've ever done a Group Buy from GeekHack, you'd know what this kind of system is like. The whole idea is that you get a lower price on rare or difficult-to-obtain products by buying them with other people. You can't buy the ErgoDox outright on Amazon, and you have to buy everything separately, which is much more expensive. You can't buy the KBT Pure Pro because of its rarity in the USA. You sacrifice shipping time for accessibility and low price. I'm not trying to defend Massdrop, but I'd like you to know what the whole point of Massdrop is.
lefthandedspatulaAgreed, and I usually defend MassDrop too... but when we get a post saying "Expect them to be shipped by the end of today" 3 days ago and it still hasnt shipped... thats a problem. I did expect and I am disappointed.
I love MassDrop for the ability to get impossible to buy items, but this now has nothing to do with that. They have had the keyboards at their warehouse early this week, they advertise that it takes them 24 hours to ship once they get product at their warehouse. I know they have to figure out what a couple symbols in chinese mean, but thats pretty easy. Like yjtt said, it not like we have a million orders with 50 different types... There one LED color, so we can ignore that chinese symbol, there are then 3 keycap choices and a few switch choices... Should only take an hour to sort into piles the different orders (only 158 keyboards).
I feel like no one is even working on it, otherwise they would have been shipped by now...
I hate to say it, since I like massdrop and usually defend and support them, but at this point its entirely unacceptable and massdrops fault that they havent been shipped yet. (again, especially since they constantly advertise that things are shipped within 24 hours of arriving at the warehouse!)
PilotChupI agree with this completely. Like I said in an earlier post, it's OK to have delays, as long as you communicate openly and relatively fast. If you don't, people are starting to get concerned about their product and especially the service of the product provider.
If, for some reason, you can't order and send the keyboards by the deadline, just say so. Don't leave us in the dark.

You should write a quick thing up to calm some of these nerds. Just copy paste our convo and I think people will be satisfied. (except they all want a time frame)
DanBradburyits just pointless now.... I have lost hope, it has become like Kickstarter, pay and forget and then a year later get a surprise in the mail. Time frame might help others though...
Hi I'm new to Drop and i just received my Keyboard i have been waiting for months for by Drop x MTN Dew x Borderlands movie and didn't know if there was a software like Logitech's for the keyboards. if anyone could help please let me know
