Too expensive,
I will admit that this was a stupid expensive purchase with a little regret, but I really like it. I like the uniqueness of wood, you can see mine has a little knot on the front. The warmth of the color, and the layered depth of the numbers you get with the tubes make it pleasing to look at for more than just time. It's a great fusion of analog and digital. It was supposed to be a bedside clock, but I like it so much it's sort of a center piece in my setup now. It lives under my monitor and helps keep me honest about my chair time. It comes loaded with options to customization options, and some good features. You can change just about everything about how and what it displays. It has a speaker, it can talk, play music(untested), and maybe some other things I don't know about. I suggest keeping the reference table from the very short instructions. The nature of it's display limits what the amount of information it can provide. It's all laid out in menus and it does tell you what the menu's are, but they're are 18 individual menus. So yeah, you should keep the cheat sheet, and maybe some magnification device, because I think it won 2nd place at the "Tiny Font Awards". Was there an ink shortage or something?. It uses 3 touch sensitive controls on top, but I find the included remote easier to manipulate things. It says it can use an android app... I have it, I've used it. Little of the app is in English, and I was disappointed that it can really only be used to set the time, date, and back light colors. It does make it easier if you want to go crazy with the light options, but what a missed opportunity. The clock itself is fine and the packaging had nice padding in it, but the manual and app are bottom tier. Really 'spensive.

Recommends this product? Yes
DarthChalupaI think I remember someone talking about the micro USB port not being USB C? I'm not trying to single any one person out. I'm fully on the C band wagon. It's been becoming the norm for way too long of a period in my opinion, but why my doods? It would get none of the benefits that C can provide, and the included cable is plenty long enough, has a ferrite core for "noise" reduction, and a 90Β° bend on the connector which makes it easier to nestle up against something. I'll sing the praises of USB C all day, and yes I'm sure they did micro because they still have pallets of them in a warehouse, but technology wise it gains nothing form the C format. There are plenty of USB C battles to keep fighting until everything is using it, but for this product... it's a strange hill to die on, to keep with the metaphor. I've made enough trips around the sun to know that even USB C is temporary. Everything changes with time. The stupid crazy price tag that's caused me some regret is the hill I choose for this over price alarm clock.
