Really unfortunate how I had to pay 50 dollar customs fee for this "discounted" tent. Ended up paying full price for the fucking thing, whats the point of buying from Massdrop if I cant even save a single cent?
axexaFor the exact reason that the 7 other products ive bought havent been charged by customs and now the tent that I save 50 bucks on I wait for 4 weeks to get at the same price as driving to the store and getting it in an hour. Ive never been charged customs for stuff shipped from Amazon US either
LadymorrighanYeah, but that still doesn't make it Massdrops fault? I'm not sure what their involvement in the creation of his local import/export laws are but I'm guessing it's nothing.
steveosupremo05Well you should have done your homework, because that's how it works. You got lucky by not paying those fees on other things - typically all imported items should have relevant duty taxes plus national/provincial/state taxes added. Then there is usually a brokerage fee to be paid for the importing agency to charge and dispense those taxes back to the appropriate government agencies.
steveosupremo05Thanks for the update. I was about to join the drop but decided to buy Kelly trailridge (lighter) from REI as its on special $150. All up with customs fees worked out cheaper from REI and less wait
