could you replace the lenses on these with prescription lenses?

Boeing77WI asked my optometrist about this and she says because the wire frame is quite thin, it wouldn't work or look good, unless you had a very low prescription.

KentWangLooks to be about the same as most of my actual glasses in terms of thickness. I've got a fairly hefty prescription in one eye, but all that means is I pay the extra for the thinner lenses, it's usually anywhere from $40-80 extra for the ultra thin and not all opticians supply them.
