Kershaw's SpeedSafe assisted opening, which is tension rod based if I'm not mistaken. Many people take it out of their knives.

propagatedSome people don't like assisted knives. Problem is a lot of them use the torsion bar as their detent, so with it removed they don't like to stay closed properly, nor is there any resistance to facilitate flipping them manually. Exceptions include the ZT 0566, 0770, and some others, which all have proper detent balls in addition to the torsion bar.
