If the knife laws in Canada are anything like here in Aus;
We aren't allowed switchblades or butterfly knifes, but you are allowed a 'flick' knife as long as it has an assisted flick. Meaning that the part you push on to flick the knife out, is actually pressing on part of the blade. Switchblades aren't allowed because it's a separate button that deploys the knife.
