I picked up one of these about a month ago and my framelock does NOT keep the blade from closing if you put any pressure on the spine. Just figured I should mention that for anyone thinking about picking this up.
PyrobitsHow much pressure are you talking about? If its only a moderate amount then it certainly sounds like a defective lock to me. Kershaw has pretty good customer service, so you might want to contact them about the issue.
PyrobitsThe problem is with your particular knife. It's not a design flaw. I have one (as well as a half dozen other Kershaws) and the lock is fine. Kershaw has a lifetime warranty. Take advantage of it is my advice. This is a good bargain for $20 delivered.
EmmoYeah, I have a Kershaw Skyline and it's perfect in almost every respect, I picked up a Zing because I wanted to mess around with the assisted opening with a brand I knew. I'll have to poke at Kershaw to see what they say about the Zing's lockup.
PyrobitsI just received mine today and it is excellent. The lockup is great, there is no play whatsoever in any direction. The frame lock is so tight I need my other hand to undo it sometimes. If you haven't contacted Kershaw yet, you should do so as soon as possible.
