I don't know why I didn't recognize this as being every bit as big as the slightly ridiculous GPB1 š³

I read the specs, I watched videos, but its size still came as a bit of a shock lol
Edit :
I do like this one much better though, the overall size seems much more balanced between the blade and the handle. And it's more comfortable in the hand
KavikI still have the hardest time flipping the GPB1 open consistently. Iām almost always putting too much pressure on the lockbar with my fingers! I would have never bought this one if they hadnāt cut the price so dramatically. I own a lot of Kizerās because of dramatic price cutting on them.
DougFLA123For that one I have to do a middle finger flick, pinch the pivot between thumb and forefinger, hook my pinky over the edge of the clip in the divot of the lockbar cutout, ring finger hovering off the handle, and swing my wrist out a bit while flicking it open
I can't get it consistent using my thumb on the stud
KavikI donāt think Iāve ever tried a middle finger flick with that knife. Thatās a great description on how to do it. Iām going to try that!
Yes, itās the regular thumb on the thumb stub flick that frustrates me. Iāve seen people flick it open with their thumbs in videos with ease. I still think itās a poor design.
DougFLA123I've just finished filing divots into the side scales of 3 frame locks so that I can unlock them. Frame locks aren't for me, and I do avoid pushing on the lockbar. I have trouble getting my thumb in enough to push across - it's just a hastle. No more frame locks for me unless they start making the opposite side low enough to push on the lock.
KizerJust curious, did you get in on the Kizer Wanderer?

So much cutout on the show sideļ»æļ»æ of this one that I had been considering filing down the lockbar side a bit for a little better grip, to avoid sliding forward towards the blade. It's just too gentle of a curve on the lock side to really feel where my hands is if I'm not really focusing on thinking about that.
Otherwise, it's a very nice, sleek, slender, classy design for a Kizer š
KavikSorry Kavik; I actually thought I had answered this, and yet it isn't here. No, I don't have that knife. I have the sheepdog mini and the small hunter. The hunter works well for me as a liner lock. I had to modify the sheepdog though with about a 6mm divot; it's still not great. I can recommend the small hunter though - I love it.
KizerNo worries
The sheepdog was actually, I think, the first Kizer that ever caught my eye, but I never did pull the trigger on it.
And looking at it now, I'm fairly certain it's way too bulky for where my tastes are nowadays
KavikI have the sheepdog mini - do you know it? It's smaller than the sheepdog. I like it. I generally use smaller knives with blades around 2" when I'm out, 3" or so around home. The small hunter is also about 2".
KizerI've looked at it, but haven't handled one in person
By "bulky" I meant the overall shape though, not necessarily the length.
Similar to how I feel on the GPB1 and the Roach; both feel like bigger knives than they are (not that they're in any way small lol) because of the height of the blade more than the length
