MathMatis4k is definitely the way to go. I went 4k and never looked back. Only valid reason to stay within 1k-3k range is for super refresh rates from 100-144hz. Again, when I upgraded to 4k I never looked back, only thing though I wish my monitor had G-Sync and not Free Sync due to my Nvida GPU, nonetheless it is a beautiful sight to behold in 4k resolution.
