What I hate most about this display is that, despite being 3440x1440, the maximum supported 16:9 resolution is 1920x1080, not 2560x1440. You can force it with Custom Resolution Utility (CRU), but you shouldn't have to do that.
A poor omission from an otherwise fantastic display.

MedionWait, so if you're not displaying in a 21:9 format it'll downscale to 1080 instead of 1440? That.. sucks. I've looked around but I can't find any information that says that, can you link to where you found that?

Boognish86When would you need to use 16:9 anyways? I'd mainly be using this for photo editing and productivity, i feel like you still wouldn't need 16:9 for movies or games.

AllPerspectivesI guess you wouldn't very often. I plan on having a 27" 2560x1440 144hz IPS for gaming and then having an ultra wide like this LG instead of 2 additional monitors for work and multitasking purposes. I suppose just being told I can't do something makes worry I'll need it, even if it isn't likely to happen.

AllPerspectivesYes, there are still many games (even recent releases) that don't work well with 21:9 either native, or through mods/hacks. Diablo 3 won't properly support it (there's a workaround to make it work, but it has issues). Overwatch uses a fairly bad implementation of it. Resident Evil 7 does not and will not support it (recent release).
Being limited to 1080p rather than 1440p (out of the box) in those games is disappointing. Again, you can fix that with CRU, but you shouldn't have to.
