Could have been far better, with more design time.
I've edited my rating to 1 star, because it stopped working after less than 10 months of very light use. It only got very light use because the user interface for using the side light pretty much sucks (I bought it for the side light feature- otherwise, without the side light it's just a fat flashlight) and it just sits on the shelf. This light was a waste of my hard earned money. Hint: Buy the nitecore tip2. Now to my old review: Shipping for my Geek took 14 days from first shipping notification. Though it was cheap, at $2.50, it was a bit long I thought. Drop price was reasonable, but I wouldn't pay full retail after getting to know the light. Just not good enough in a number of ways to pay so much. I read all the reviews and specs and still bought it, unfortunately. There are some nice points, but the cons outweigh them. Good stuff first: Pros: Extremely well machined- very solid aluminum construction, which is way better than the nitecore tip and tini. Anodizing seems tough so far. Buttons feel quality, action is nice. Not too hard or easy to push. Beam profile is perfect for an EDC light. Pretty bright for what it is. User interface for the front light is ok (but could be better) Cons: Too bulky for the cell capacity (and brightness)- not that much better than an AAA, and not as much as a AA cell. Rubber charging port cover is useless. After 1 day of use, it wont stay shut- it opens at the slightest contact with fabric or skin. Just a poor design and execution. This light is not the slightest bit waterproof. I bought it over the nitecore tip because I thought it was. Dammit. Looking inside the light body, the placement of components could have been better thought out. Specifically, the usb port could have been placed so that it was behind the end of the cell instead of alongside it; that would have made the light skinnier and allowed for enough depth in the aluminum housing to allow for a deeper recess for the rubber plug, making it more secure and watertight. The clip really sucks. Pops off with a fingernail, and us hard to get clipped on my jeans. User interface for the side light is a joke if you want to access moonlight: from off, hold the front button down for 3 agonizingly slow seconds, followed by 5 (!) seconds of flashing of the emitter, then the light remains off. You then are able to use the power button to turn the side light on. Your options while locked into those mode are .2, 1, and 5 lumens. If you want more than that from the floody side light, you have to cycle back through that agonizing process again to switch to the front light, then hold down the front button for 1.5 seconds to switch to the side light in the brighter of the side light modes.

mr_magooSame issue, mine no longer switches on, now useless. It is nowhere as robust as it looks. Disappointing.
