ElsidAs a substitute for a headlamp. If you wear a baseball cap at all times on the trail (like I do), you can clip it onto the brim and it actually works better then a headlamp (as you do not get the hat's shadow in front of your feet). This is obviously in addition to the fact that it weighs a lot less.
For example: Black Diamond Spot (uses 4 batteries) and weighs 110g (3.88oz) + Spare Batteries vs this flashlight (0.8oz) + 1-2 spare batteries.
This one does seem quite expensive though. I think comparable models (non Ti) are quite a bit cheaper (i.e. $ for Fenix Flashlights E05 85 Lumens at 0.7oz).

GoGoGreenGiantthat's exactly what i do and it works great (with that flashlight but in brass version in fact). its perfect. I'm happy to hear others also do this!
