My keyboard uses blue switches, but I should have ordered Gateron Greens because I prefer stiffer action. I was too easily swayed by various users' encomiums to the smoothness of Gateron Blues.
I chose options that a lot of other Massdrop members didn't: silver case, typewriter keycaps, blue and gold LEDs.
The LEDs are nigh useless with the typewriter keycaps option, but they do offer a lovely jeweled presentation for the touch typist who doesn't need to check the letters in the dark.
I'm typing in a darkened room right now. The blue and gold reflections on the silver case and rounded key borders are gorgeous even though they offer no visual information whatsoever.
I doubt I'd have wanted white LEDs unless I'd chosen the black case. But even then, the choice might not have been decadent enough for me. With the silver case and silverblack keyset, it might also have been too bright.
I keep the blue light at the lowest possible brightness setting and it's still fairly blinding because it bleeds all around the stems. White would have been even more pronounced.
