How does Massdrop even stay in business? When you can buy quite a bit of this stuff on Amazon or EBay for less money and shipping, I don't understand the business model .

AndroidkneePretty much anything under $50 and most things under $100 are going to be cheaper elsewhere, but above that they tend to get some good deals because manufacturers are more willing to negotiate volume discounts. I'm guessing a lot of their business comes from things that are close to Amazon (or GearBest, etc) prices and people are too lazy or just don't care to actually shop around.

fishbiscuit13I would agree that most people don't shop around much. I guess we all look for that "special deal".

AndroidkneeYou may not believe this, but most companies eat the cost of shipping or offset it some other way. Amazon does it in a multitude of ways, some of which we may never know about. :D
Now, MD is maybe not at that level yet, or maybe the contracts offered by the shipping companies don't meet their needs or price. But they do their best considering the location of some of our buys. They are getting stuff shipped to them and then reshipping it. That doesn't come for free.
And remember, other sites watch MD and even the companies providing products to MD try to undercut MassDrops. The day before a drop, price is x amount on Amazon, MD drops, the price is less than MD and free shipping. It's brutal.
This is why and I hate to say it, I use MD for those hard to get things or limited run or just massively discounted stuff. :D
That's all I got.

BrainFlushBrainFlush, I totally get it! Maybe I was in "rant mode" when I started this. My apologies!
