It sounds like the tail switch has a rechargeable battery rather than a capacitor. Given that rechargeable battery lifespans are often only 3-4 years, does anyone know if the tail switch is covered under the normal lifetime warranty on the flashlight?

allenti have read several reviews of people saying that it is a capacitor, because after putting in a battery, the light still would not work initially until about ~5 minutes later and the capacitor would be charged. basically i'm pretty sure it is a capacitor, however i'm not 100% sure (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-brass-aaa-pocket-flashlight/talk/1620991)

ColemanzebBattery seems more likely if it takes more than a few seconds to get charged up.

allentI received mine today. The printout that came with it states it is a capacitor. Mine turned on within 10 seconds of inserting the battery. Happy.
