How are you guys planning to patina this baby? Or for those of you who won't, how are you planning on keeping it nice and shiny? I love how it looks all polished and would rather keep it that way, but I'm thinking it will naturally oxidize so in that case I'd rather just get it over with.

Mario.PaulJust handling the light enough will cause the patina. Any metal cleaner such as Mothers chrome cleaner, Flitz, etc will keep it shiny.

BassmanYeah I know that first bit, but good call on the metal cleaner tip. I figured if handling and exposure to the atmosphere will cause patina over time, I'd rather get a uniform patina from the get-go.
Someone suggested putting the metal on a Ziploc with tomato sauce or something like that but I can't find the post.

Mario.Paulthere are hard boiled egg methods (to release sulphur), salt and ammonia methods, just search. personally i kinda have clammy hands and when i walk around, i just hold it in my fist in my pocket (where it lives anyway). that will give it a darker brass tone, a more natural patina.
thats what im going for. i dont plan on any greens or super corroded looks
