Unfortunately I must caution everyone about this flashlight. As much as I like it I am on my second one (original one plus its free replacement under warranty). Both the original Brass AAA and its replacement literally went from shipping package to my bedside table, where they never left the bedroom. It was my night go-to light when I needed to see something after lights out. I would estimate that I used the first light about a dozen times and its replacement even less. Both lights failed. One day they work fine and a couple of weeks of non use and I pick it up and its dead. Battery replaced; still dead. The second one actually flashes for about 1/10th of a second when you push the power button, but that's it - it will not turn on. I don't know what to say other than when I needed the light it was ultimately broken. I have not even reported the second failure for warranty replacement.

Hopefully you will have better luck, they are a very nicely designed light. If it worked it would be one of my favorite.
I use standard Duracell batteries in the light.
Keep you fingers crossed, I think that the vast majority of these lights have to be more reliable than the small sample I have received.

rpscuba i just got the copper one and thought i put the battery in wrong because the button wasn't working. i flipped it around a few times and it started working fine. perhaps it may help for you. its possible the connection isn't good try tightening the light side cap there seems to be a cutoff . It looks like a really nice design i really like the button and light levels
