I recently got this headset, and wow is it good. My only issue is when certain people talk on discord, I can hear a really high pitched ringing. I fiddled with a bunch of settings, computer audio and discord, and nothing seems to solve the issue. It is primarily if not all in my right ear only. Is there something wrong with my headset, or was that ringing always there I can just hear it cause the headset is THAT good? I haven't had any issues with any other application, though I have yet to test if I can hear the ringing on a different version of discord, say on my xbox instead of my pc. Only other issue I've had is occasional static, but I can't tell if it's from the headset or the show/game/etc.

That means I won't have the headphone itch scratched until summer. Any suggestions on how to avoid buying more things (as I ask you for suggestions on something I should buy... lol)?
My catalog is already a bit full but I feel I need something fun and new and possibly closed design.
Klipsch X10i, Klipsch R6i, Klipsch X4i, Klipsch S4i, Klipsch Mode 40, Klipsch Status, Klipsch Image ONE, Klipsch Image ONE Bluetooth, MEE audio Sport-Fi M6, MEE audio M6 PRO, MEE audio Air-Fi AF32, Photive BTH3, AKG K 240 MKII, Sony MDR7520, Shure SE 215, RHA MA750i, Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro, Jaybird X2, Etymotic Research ER4, Zagg ZR-LE, Sennheiser PX100, Sennheiser HD280, Sennheiser HD600, Philips Fidelio X2, Koss PortaPro, Grado SR80i, Grado SR125e, Audio-Technica ATH-M40x, Audio-Technica ATH-M50, Bowers & Wilkins P5, V-Moda Crossfade LP2, Bose QC15 and now the Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 headphones... in May/June.
The Fostex would have kept my addiction fed for quite a while but now I can't help but lust over something else until I have it in my hands. Suggestions?
Also, a more important question, lots of headphones, but what are your sources?
FiiO E6 (mostly unused these days) FiiO K1 (laptop bag for on the go) FiiO E10k V2 (office desktop) Headroom Total BitHead (mostly unused these days) Stello HP100 (getting dusty somewhere) Sonic Adventure Reality (my home office) HK-430 (2-channel bedroom system) Anthem MRX-710 (living room home theater)
Seems like you do a lot of listening from your laptop? You'd be better off starting with something like the Chord Mojo for the laptop, works well with mobile devices as well, and would definitely power this well. For serious home listening (for any higher-end headphones you may get in future), I'm fond of the higher-end stuff from Schiit Audio (Lyr 2 and above for amps, for example).
I used to be all about trying different cans, etc in the beginning, but now focus on just a few flagship/near-flagships instead. Totalling up the cost of all the $300 or so priced cans, you could get some really superb gear, just find out what sound signature fits your specific tastes, and get the best headphone you can afford that matches it.
On my computer it's pulling 320kbps AAC or FLAC files from a Drobo, on the go it's 256 AAC or Tidal (Flac 1411kbps). From my bedroom and living room systems it's either vinyl (project carbon or audio-technica) or streaming 256 AAC.
I don't see myself selling anything but I would be up for something really fantastic if I could justify it. I think it is about time I get a new desktop DAC/Amp though. I really do love the FiiO K1 and E10K V2 but if I am going to try something like electrostatic/magneplanar, more power will be required. My Sonic Adventure Reality is starting to show wear too. Need to upgrade the tubes and lubricate the pot. But in the end it's picking up a lot of EMI in my office which is super annoying and is prone to humming in quiet parts of songs.
I guess at this point I need to decide what DAC/Amp + Headphone combo would be ideal and save up. I'm still in for this Fostex though haha. I need to get cheaper hobbies/obsessions; wine, hifi and photography are too damn expensive!
As for the home setup, I'd say spend some time auditioning, at a meet if no stores are nearby. No reviews will help you decide what you prefer. Listen for yourself and decide. I'm fond of Hifiman, Audeze, ZMF and Beyerdynamic, all of which I got to try extensively before purchasing.
