Have all boxes been shipped? @Kevin Mine hasn't yet and I'm starting to get worried.

TherocA little less than 20% of the boxes are going to be shipping out a day or two late.

KevinMildly worried about this lol, throwing the dice hasn’t worked in my favor in the past... fingers crossed to a good $250 Drop loot box lol, hopefully I’ll at least get some gifts for other people out of it....looks like my luck is already showing with not having shipping yet either ahhhhh! 🤓

Kevin@kevin - If 1.5K were sold and 20% are yet to go out, that means 300 (of either 100 or 250 boxes) are yet to be sent. If someone ordered on April 26, the day the Drop started, logic might dictate that they would have gotten their box already assuming FIFO fulfillment. That's apparently not the case because I ordered on April 26, and have gotten both "Delayed" emails while watching a lot of other transactions being fulfilled. Seems like an area to improve upon as one might expect that people who are serviced last will likely get the bottom of the barrels. The process *while fun* seemed disjointed and inconsistent. What logic did Drop employ when they fulfilled the orders and would it be the same if you tried this again?

DarthpoolWhen did you order @Darth?

KevlarBondIt isn’t FIFO, it’s based on physical inventory accessibility of the products that you randomly got assigned. Basically some products are more accessible than others given the age of the inventory that we’re depleting. Essentially boxes that haven’t shipped yet have items on “higher level shelves” and they’re working their way up to bring all the pallets down and pack the items.

KevlarBond26th also, but I'm not too worried, my only concern would be if the algorithm they used to pair goods with orders was deployed in waves rather than once at the beginning. If once at the beginning I'm less concerned, and I'm sure they are just playing catch up with the random box filling of orders.

KevinUmmm...higher level shelves, this implies, based on my limited experience with this sort of thing that the last boxes shipping will be gear that has been sitting for extended periods due to low order rates, or outdated....@kevin why you no make me feel better about dis!!! ;) Please, please don't be a box full of ladies underwear.... I don't know how I would explain that to my wife lol

KevinFascinating. So all inventory is already assigned to be shipped. Does that imply that you have half loaded boxes lying around the warehouse where items from lower shelves were already packed and the box is waiting for higher shelf inventory? net net, it seems it would have been better for a consumer to order late as they would get lower shelf, assumed newer, items. Those that ordered early got older, higher shelf, items. Fascinating. Not sure I’m familiar with that inventory queueing model. Thanks for your honest answer. I await my vintage Pentium II cooling fan and iPhone 6 case. <smirk>

KevlarBondWow there's so much tea-leaf reading going on here. But heck, I'll play along though. 1) When you order has no bearing on the randomization process, everyone had the same chance at the same products (aside from the $250 boxes having higher probability of the bigger items), completely independent of inventory-age. Everything was assigned at the end of the drop, not sequentially as people joined the drop. 2) It's true, if you randomly got assigned 10 items, and all of those items were "newer items on lower level shelves", you'd likely get your box shipped sooner. Keeping in mind, if you had 9 "new items", and "1 old item from 5 years ago", then you'd end up being a late shipment. So with that in mind, technically the timeliness of your shipment has an extremely tiny amount of bearing on what's in your box (it's an indication that at least 1 item in your box is on a high shelf). 3) However, they don't really stack the boxes and pallets chronologically. There are some products that are newer that get loaded onto higher shelves simply due to space availability. So I'll except that there's a very slight correlation between height and time, but it is definitely not deterministic. 4) Yes, we have a couple hundred boxes that are like 90% packed waiting for 1 or 2 more things to get pulled down and put in. It's slowing the process down a lot. This is the first time we've ever done this (likely the last) and it's painful for me to watch the updates come in slowly and contend with pitchforks. 5) I love and hate the pitchforks. You guys are all so excited about this and that's really awesome. I get it's an emotional roller coaster and frustrating and can only assure you that we're doing everything we can to meet as many demands as possible with the constraints we face. We started fulfillment on this really early and I actively decided to ship them as they were packed, instead of holding them all until the ship date. That has increased the dispersion of service (some people got their boxes a week ago = good service, others are still waiting = bad service). Fingers crossed we get all(most) of you tracking numbers tomorrow.

KevinHa, as one of my favorite quotes goes "the hard thing, about hard things, is they are hard" ;) I also have enjoyed this test of the Drop formerly known as "Massdrop"s customer engagement =) @kevin you have done a good job of walking the tight rope that is a "loot box". Also this last post was very informative and I feel like if you lead with it a lot less concern would have been verbally diarrhea'd all over this forum lol, "but like that is just, like, my opinion man!". I don't think you could ever get everyone into a happy place. Also I know that written words can be less inflective of what is/was being conveyed by the writer in their head. For instance most of my posts were mildly concerned about getting $250 worth of women's underwear, but I still have excitement and hope of finding a gem that will appeal to me =) I also think of spending money this way as if I never had the $250 in the first place...I.E. if you don't have the money to burn literally/figuratively than you shouldn't be participating in events like this. My humor doesn't always come off when you can't see that twinkle in my eye or slight smirk lol. But hey I think I'm funny damnit!! Also I like to poke the bear at times to see what happens, what is life without a problem to solve and pushing against limits, self-imposed or otherwise. ...and at the end of the day I was concerned I would get a box of women's underwear delivered to my house and my wife would be flabbergasted at the perv she married ;) tough times ahead, steady as she goes! lol But enough walling of text... I look forward to sharing what I get, when I get it. *poke* still no delivery shipping email ahhhh ;) (my witty dry humor shows again...ok maybe I'm not funny) Cheers!
KevinStill no notice of shipment, @Kevin. Is it just taking longer than expected or did my packing slip glide under a bench? BTW, I really appreciate your active "outreach" (see what I did there :p) for this drop. I wish all drops had a dedicated contact person like this.
