Would you recommend this kit for a beginner?

user1I guess it depends on how you're looking to play. If you're planning on playing casually with friends and just want to build a collection and learn card mechanics, then yeah it could be good for a beginner. But if you're hoping to jump into local tournaments, especially standard format (since a lot of the options in this drop aren't standard legal), you're probably better off doing some research, learning the game via online resources, and building a deck with singles you order online.

user1For casual play you might be better off buying a deck builders tool kit, they're only $20 at most retailers and it would give you a way to build a deck and see if you even want to invest more heavily in playing.
