Just thought I would come back and tell everyone of my first DAC/AMP experience with these headphones. o.O OMFG is all I can say, I am convinced. Been doing it wrong all this time, I really thought my high end motherboard Asus Rampage V extreme had decent onboard audio and amp which it sort of does, But even for a deaf middle aged fart(44) like me I notice the difference immediately when switching to an external amp/dac. Ended up just getting an entry level gamer style one just to try out before investing into higher audiophile gear. Got the new Creative Soundblaster X G6 and am very impressed with it so far. Have not tried games in surround with the onboard trickery or the scout mode yet, But the stereo for music really does open these cans up. Don't even need the high gain switch. Seems to be a good little combo for gamers/noobs like me if anyone else is starting out in audio land. Given me goosebumps which is great. ;) There is just one problem, I now have to re encode all my music collection to much better quality as you can now detect the slightest little defects, But that is a good thing! Cheers, Shane
macca74If you mean re-rip your CD collection into FLAC or some other lossless format then, yes. If you mean converting MP3/lossy files to FLAC or other lossless formats then, NO!
