Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

- Never heard stax but these sound ever so slightly veiled compared to my thinksound ON2's. But unllike the ON2's I have, there is virtually no mid range.
- Bass is NOTHING like the TH900. I've heard the 900's and it's not even in the same ball park. I leave mine at 2 ports open because any more the bass gets bloated, and any less, they seem slightly anemic because of how the treble sounds slightly veiled compared to my thinksound ON2's.
- Never heard M1060, but soundstage in its stock form was average. It's on par with the V-Moda M100 (with the larger pads) I used to have. I slapped on a set of brainwavz HM5 angled pads and it got a lot better.
- Comfort is good. However, again, in its stock form, my ears touch the inside and it gets a big warm and the pads are pretty thin. With the brainwavz pads, it made it a lot more comfortable. It's probably because of how loose the headband is, with the upgraded pads, it's one of the most comfortable pairs I own. I actually have a slight seal issue because of how loose it is and I'd say my head is larger than average.
Overall, I ended up giving them to my girl friend to use because they are not the headphones that punch above its weightclass that everyone is touting them to be. The thinksounds are $149 currently when they're on sale here, or 155 on amazon and I can easily say it could compete with headphones in the 200-300 dollar rang. Only limiting factoring being its on ear design, which makes sound stage non-existent.
I listen to a mix of instrumental music, electronic, and jazz.
