I often use my synthetic mummy bag even while sleeping in bed at home. I was hoping to use this down quilt instead. Would this be a bad idea for some reason, such as from the standpoint of durability? (Maybe I should just be shopping for a down comforter too?)

WLVAI use an old Golite down quilt at home quite often and love it. However, it is 40' rated and it works for nightime lows of 60' or less. I couldn't imagine getting our house cold enough to be comfortable in a new 20' down quilt.

DannyMilksThank you for the data point. However, you're probably fortunate not to live in an old brick house like mine, with a gap too narrow for effective wall insulation...

WLVAYep, I use an old 40' quilt indoors when the temps get 55-65' at night. So, if your situation is much colder, than the 20' might be a bit warm, but not ridiculously warm. Let me know how it goes! I love sleeping in a quilt because my feet stay warm and I like the lightness of the quilt on top, instead of a typically heavy comforter.
