evvignesI have the socks that these were based on, the ISW Isolwool. I can't believe they went thinner and lighter with these, as the ISW's smooth, cushioned feel doesn't last. They were OK at first but later I went back to Darn Tough after the ISW's started giving me a blister 8 miles into a 35 mile hike, and I was wearing liners and using a friction-reducing powder. I recently did a 70 mile hike in worse terrain, much heavier pack, blister free in Darn Toughs. The original ISW's are good for casual, work, riding a bicycle, and I imagine these are the same, but less durable. The cushioning gets thin, uneven, and rough after a couple of trips to the mountains.
Brett919I wear Darn Tough/SmartWool (medium thickness) with ON Cloud shoes and I could not be happier.
The combination is literally life changing.
Thank you for your insight.
