Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Now, The sturdiness: These are very well built cans. Too tight for now, but I've only laid with them for one night. Hung them on my PS so they could rest while I'm at work. :D The hinge could be better, it keeps going back to the "default" position and tightens the head. Maybe they will open up soon and this will go away.
The sound: Right out of the box (and by "right out of the box" I mean eagerly tearing the box apart and taking them with shaking hands while sitting in the car right across the P.O. ((and taking weird looks from other people, looking them aggressively in the eyes like you're some kind of a predator))) they don't sound so good. Shallow and "tin". That may be due to the fact that I've plugged them straight to the iPhone 6S. Volume wasn't so high, bass wasn't deep, mids didn't have a life in them and treble wasn't sparkling or clear. At all. But they sounded okay, or so I guessed. "Will get back home and test it on my Fiio E6" I've thought. Like Fiio E6 is something good. :D Wasn't expecting any improvement apart from the volume bump.
Then I came back to my berloga after a couple of hours. Plugged them in and died. They are fantastic. And the more I've listened to them, the more they developed. It seems that some of you guys have a fight there whether there is a "burn-in" concept in planars, and I can not tell you shit about this objectively, but I felt the difference. Maybe my ears adjusted or something?
Bass is great, mids are great, treble is great. Everything is great lol
What I actually did "to test them?": Listened to Indie, Prog Rock/Metal, Rap, Harsh Noise, Electronic stuff and Punk Rock for the cherry top; Played "The Evil Within 2" and "Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus"; Watched "The Departed (2006)" and "The Jungle (2017)".
So, fucking grats to every each one of you who has this pair and doesn't have problems with it, these are really great cans!
