Can anybody compare these, to the AKG K712 Pro. Mainly for gaming. --->Love wide open soundstage, and precise 3d imaging. I already listend the HE4xx in some BF5 gameplay, and i loved it. Only cons, they realy heavey and warm around the ear, and the osund stage could be a bit wider. But the sound ... BIG WOW

Kristof86I have both the AKG 712 Pro and the HE4xx, but I must clarify that, first of all i'm not a seasonal audiophile so take my comparisons with a gain of salt as each person's preference in sound is very subjective. Amp used is the Headphone output from my PS Audio Sprout 2. After listening and comparing tracks from Yosi Horikawa, eg Letter, Timbres ect. I found that the HE4xx are easier to drive compared to the AKG's. There is slightly more mid bass as well. Imaging, sound stage and clarity, the AKG does edges out the HE4xx. HE4xx is slightly warmer sound, imho compared to the AKG. AKG I could wear for hours (lighter and softer pads) as with the HE4xx after couple tracks it does get warm around the ear.

EpiksI see , thank you it helps a bit for my decision. My only concer is, that my Loxjie P20 won t handle the K712 , and then the bass will be shallow . The sound stage was much wider by the way? because that is the pickiest part for me . Comming from Genelec speakers

Kristof86Both headphones are not hard to drive cans at all, sound stage between the two are not light and day difference, but you do notice it. I'm running on KEF LS50 for my desktop speakers, and that is total different.
