Just wanted to share my experience so far with the shipping for the 58X, intended for future Canadian buyers.
I'm in Canada, and I ordered this on October the 14th, but since that was a Sunday, MD shipped it out on the 15th instead. They shipped it via DHL, but since DHL does not have serve my area (Toronto), they forwarded it to Canada Post instead.
The parcel arrived in my city on Friday the 19th, just before the weekend. Today (the 22nd) is when it officially arrived at a local post office and was available for pick-up. It took a total of six business days.
Canada Post enforced a customs fee and a pick-up only requirement on the parcel, so I had no choice but to take my delivery notice to the post office to pick it up; they did not bother sending it to my house directly. Canada charged me pretty a expensive customs fee for a $150 USD item: $35.29 CAD or a little under $27 USD (18% of the cost of the item).
Overall, the cost of the 58X was $150 + $15 + $27 (cost + shipping + customs, all in USD) for a total of $192 USD. If you are buying from Canada, expect to pay this amount, more or less.

tetraslashI pretty much paid the same price, customs is a bitch, anything over 60 will get hit with a fee

lugnutThe Canadian healthcare system only covers the check-ups with the doctors and specialists; they don't really cover any medications or surgical fees unless it's an emergency in a hospital.

tetraslashTax/duties with Canada Post are charged as the actual tax on the item, plus 10 bucks fee. 150US = about 196.50 currently, HST on that is around 25... so the $35 total is right inline with what you should expect. There's always the chance they won't ding you and just deliver the package, but that's he game you play ordering from outside the country. If you bought headphones within Ontario you'd pay the 13% HST anyway, so the $10 is the only real hard pill to swallow.. if you figure you've saved at least $10 compared to domestic shopping, then there you are.

tetraslashMine took about a week to arrive with Canada Post pickup. So you'll be paying $10+taxes for your province. $35.xx total for Ontario.

tetraslashThanks a lot for that info. I get excited about these deals, and then realize a $150USD item will end up translating to close to $225CAD at the current exchange rates. Sigh.
